Five Talents pursues new and creative ways for business professionals to use their skills and talents overseas to help entrepreneurs in developing countries out of poverty.  A unique aspect of our microfinance services, the Five Talents Business as Mission program develops training materials that professionals use on short-term mission trips to train entrepreneurs.  Through training, Business as Mission professionals equip Five Talents program entrepreneurs with concrete business, marketing, and administrative skills from a biblical perspective.  The mix of general training with one-on-one counseling for loan recipients is a transformative experience for all involved.

Unlike most training programs, the Five Talents methodology is concrete in that it incorporates interactive exercises that are less dependent on high levels of written literacy and case studies. Five Talents is taking the lead in alleviating poverty not through handouts but through teaching sensible and biblical business practices and building capacity to manage Christian microenterprise development programs.

In order to see the parable of Matthew 25 come alive, Five Talents makes sense of business to the poor.  We equip entrepreneurs with concrete business, marketing, and administrative skills from a biblical perspective.  Ultimately, adequate training means more intelligent use of the microloans Five Talents makes to individuals, as indicated by the 95% repayment rate of our loans.
