Maria Owen joined Five Talents in 2015 shortly after her family moved to the USA from Kenya.  She has worked in international development for over 15 years with a commitment to serve the poor in her work. Maria grew up in Ethiopia and Kenya, from which she gained an appreciation for working cross-culturally.  Returning to East Africa after completing her studies in International Development, Maria has had an opportunity to live and work with various non-profit organizations throughout much of Eastern and Southern Africa including Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, D.R. Congo, South Sudan, Uganda, and South Africa.  She is excited to be a part of the Five Talents team seeing vulnerable people being transformed by community-owned development in partnership with the church.
