Our Unique Approach

Reaching the Marginalized

FIVE TALENTS GOES WHERE OTHERS DON'T

We target high-risk, under-served communities where most people are unable to get traditional loans or other banking services. We work in post-conflict communities in South Sudan and Burundi. We work in rural Myanmar, in the mountains of Bolivia, and across Eastern Africa.

Helping the whole person

FIVE TALENTS HELPS THE WHOLE PERSON

Our approach focuses on transformational development. Members are connected to a supportive and nourishing community where they learn about God's love and how they can identify and develop their own talents. They receive training and mentorship in financial literacy and core business skills, and they gain access to community savings and loans for sustainable development.

Reaching the Vulnerable and Marginalized

FIVE TALENTS REACHES THE MOST VULNERABLE

We serve extremely poor and vulnerable communities where the average income is less than $1.90 per person. Our programs emphasize ministry to the marginalized, empowering the neglected and building peace in areas of conflict. Eighty percent of our members are women who are often catalysts for change in the home.

Empowering Leadership

Five Talents empowers local leadership

We work closely with local organizations to build capacity and mobilize local resources for sustainable development. Local staff members help us tailor each program to the needs of each individual community. We partner with the local church in every community we serve.

Measuring Impact

Five talents measures impact

Rigorous monitoring and evaluation are key to our success. We measure impact through literacy rates, savings group formation, business development, loan repayment, and progress out of poverty, exploring family life and how communities are being transformed. Five Talents closely monitors and publishes regular impact reports.
