Five Talents supports ministry in Renk, South Sudan. Our programs focus on literacy, economic empowerment, and trauma healing for women and youth affected by war. Over the years we’ve found that these are key tools for promoting peace and development. Five Talents serves in Renk in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Renk and the Mothers’ Union women’s ministry.

“After learning to read, write, and be numerate from the literacy circle, we were accredited and put into groups again for [community savings] and business skills. After six months we opened our boxes and it was a lot of money. . . I was able to take the first loan and started my own business.
During six months, I finished paying back the loan and saved my own capital. Now I have good profit which enables me to pay school fees for my children, eat two meals a day, and we have added some rooms to our house with more beds for the children. I have expanded my land I used to add vegetables to my main crop of peanuts. . .
Cooperation and attentiveness are the best and restore relationships among the people. Peace has come to our area because people are again able to support themselves through their own work.”
