Good Monday morning,
Last week we had a remarkable series of meetings with Five Talents program leaders and key facilitators from across Eastern Africa.
In one of our sessions we discussed how important it is to clarify and write down our ultimate goal. More participants? More training? No.
Inclusive and Empowered Communities
One of our African leaders said it well: we should work toward “inclusive, empowered, communities.” By that, he meant communities in which women and men, people of every ethnic background, had broken out of cycles of poverty and despair.
We also had the privilege to learn from women ministering among displaced communities in South Sudan, community trainers in rural Kenya and Tanzania, pastors and leaders from hardship areas of Uganda, a pioneer program facilitator in DR Congo, accountants who manage financial services for the extreme poor, and many more. It’s been a great time.
Until next Monday morning,
