Dear friends,
We are blessed by generous givers large and small.
But my favorite gifts come from a wonderful friend of Five Talents who sends us five dollars each time a friend of hers dies. She lets us know who the gift is to honor, and she lovingly encloses her check each time.
The latest arrived last week.
What a blessing that she participates in this cycle of life: birth – death – and new life. Out of her thoughtfulness, she has partly transformed the pain that comes from death and helped our partners to feed their children, pay for medical care, and do other things that bring life.
And even though five dollars doesn’t go very far, the best part is that this loving act brings us all together in one common ministry. One family. One goal. To help others help themselves.
That’s why my favorite gifts are those that help us to participate in this new birth together.
