Adult Literacy and Economic Development
Do you remember when you first learned to read? Many of those whom Five Talents serves never had the chance to go to school. They’re learning to read for the first time as adults.
I read in Arabic, because the letters of Arabic are different. I didn’t know how to read and write my language, I used to see letters as mere pictures. When I joined the literacy circle at first it was very difficult, but the Facilitator used to repeat the letters until I understood. Now I am able to read and write and I am very proud. I hope in the future I will become a Facilitator.

Literacy opens up a whole new world of opportunity and provides a foundation for Five Talents’ training in business and savings. We’re excited that many of our leaders are graduates of Five Talents programs. They’ve seen the value in education and now pass on those lessons to others.
Thank you for your partnership with Five Talents and for sharing opportunity and hope.
Until next Monday morning,
Dale Stanton-Hoyle,
Executive Director
