I don’t know about you, but for me, it feels good to have 2020 behind us. This has been a difficult year, of course, for almost everyone. Some have known loved ones who have been very sick or have died because of COVID-19. Some have suffered economic difficulty. Some have even lost their businesses. Around the world, our partners living in poverty have seen some of the most severe challenges.
So, we look to 2021 in hopes that things will be much better. We hope that vaccines will make it quickly to those who need it most. We long for the opportunity to spend more time with loved ones. We hope that businesses will revive and thrive.
And yet, we have opportunities to look beyond the difficulties and frustrations that we feel. We have new opportunities to help and serve others. We know that when we are selflessly helping others, we enjoy life the most.
So in 2021, my hope is that I will be able to look beyond my own frustrations and difficulties. I hope we all will find meaning, and great joy, in service to others.
Until next Monday morning,
Dale Stanton-Hoyle,
Executive Director
