Good Monday morning and Happy Presidents’ Day,
As our nation honors and reflects on the lives of great leaders, I’m inspired by men and women around the world who exercise leadership through service.
Inspirational Leaders
We live in remarkable times, and I am grateful for the courageous pastors, trainers, facilitators and leaders who shape Five Talents’ programs. We are blessed by faithful, hardworking, and dedicated women and men who make great sacrifices in order to serve the most vulnerable and poor in their communities.
I’m reminded of our facilitators in Uganda who gather groups beneath the shade of trees to offer lessons on literacy, business, and community health. I’m grateful for our facilitators in Burundi who travel long distances on bicycles to reach the most remote villages. And for our leaders in Juba, South Sudan, who regularly visit families in U.N. settlements, comforting, encouraging, and offering hope to those who have suffered war and displacement.
In Myanmar, a military coup has recently replaced elected leadership. It has been a trying time for our church partners there as they seek to faithfully serve their communities amidst great tension and concern. And in Bolivia, the pandemic has hit especially hard so that leaders there are grappling with how best to guard the health of the participants while protecting the poor and their small businesses.
Finally, over the past year we’ve experienced great division and upheaval in the United States. Sadly, our political leaders (from every party) have sometimes served special interests more than the public good. Throughout the world we are in need of servant leaders.
Please join me in taking time during this season to pray for our leaders.
Thank you for your partnership with Five Talents,
Dale Stanton-Hoyle,
Executive Director
