Good Monday morning,
Easter Around the World
Yesterday Christians around the world celebrated Easter. Amidst the ongoing pandemic the celebration took various forms. Many families worshipped from their homes as new lockdowns have closed churches in parts of Kenya, while ongoing unrest in Myanmar has meant that most families have had to shelter in place.
Some of our church partners held traditional services in socially distanced congregations. In other places parishioners walked through their villages enacting the way of the cross on Friday and dancing and praying with drums and songs on Sunday.
The Importance of Faith for Families in Poverty
During this period of unrest and economic hardship, faith has been even more essential to families living in poverty.
As Rose from Burundi shared with us recently:
“In our lives, many of our daily problems find their solution through prayer. With God all things are possible. I am living with hope and everything in my life is surrendered to God.”
Until next Monday morning,
