What do you think poverty is? The World Health Organization asked two groups this question.

How Do You Define Poverty?

The middle-class Americans said they would define poverty as living on less than a few dollars a day. Or not being able to eat two or three meals a day. Or not having the ability to get medical care for their children.

The poor defined poverty as living with shame. As humiliation. As hopelessness. As powerlessness.
