Thank you to everyone who participated in our March Matchness bracket competition. Your votes help us understand what you value most in this important ministry.
As important as the physical benefits from our programs are—improved nutrition and school fees for kids, for example—the winning impact you valued most was “Experiencing God’s Love.” (click here to see the full results).
This reinforces our beliefs and our practices to support the poor in wholistic ways. We don’t give the poor things; we show them how to use the talents God has given them, along with the support of their community, to live lives of dignity.
This week we observed the death fifty years ago of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King noted that a big part of our work in this world is to address what he called “a poverty of the spirit.” How ironic that the need to help each person experience God’s love is still so real today. And how important that we can be part of this vital mission together. Please listen to this one-minute excerpt from his message.
Until next Monday, blessings be with you,
Dale Stanton-Hoyle,
Executive Director
