South Sudan This Last Week: Our Hope Is Only in God

Dear Friends,

We may be frustrated by the inconvenience of having to stay home, but I can only imagine how difficult today’s conditions are for people who have to risk going out each day to gather water.

An Update from Renk, South Sudan

I can barely imagine what it’s like to live in a country like South Sudan with only four ventilators for about 13 million people. And as airports across the African continent have been closing, it has become much more difficult to get emergency supplies—or even malaria nets—to those in great need.

I am grateful that we have the opportunity to get fresh news from the field. The brief video above is about current conditions in Renk in South Sudan. One of our trainers there recently left us a voicemail, and through the skill and dedication (and magic) of our Director of Communications, Dave Chaves, we can now transport you to South. Sudan.

We are all adapting, and the words of Ajak John Manyang in the video help us to keep focused on our hope in God.

Until next Monday morning,
